UNIVERSITY OF BOLOGNA · ITALY
We would like to sincerely thank Prof. Ernesto Pasquini and Olympus Italia for the kind invitation to the course “Endoscopic Surgery of Paranasal Sinuses and Skull Base” at the University of Bologna.
Few places could be more fitting for a course dedicated to surgical anatomy. Founded in 1088, the University of Bologna is the oldest university in the Western world and carries the title Alma Mater Studiorum. It holds a special place in the history of anatomy: it was here that Mondino de’ Liuzzi reintroduced systematic human dissection to European medicine in the early 14th century, and the university’s historic Anatomical Theatre remains one of the most iconic symbols of anatomical teaching to this day. Training the next generation of surgeons in this setting connects modern technology with centuries of anatomical tradition.
It was a pleasure to contribute to this outstanding educational event. ErgoSurg equipped the master workstation of the course with our electromagnetic ENT navigation system, enabling participants to experience precise, real-time surgical navigation during hands-on dissection.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with leading experts in rhinology and skull base surgery.
